As stated in its Governance Charter, the EITLC “provides a collaborative leadership forum for information technology (IT) leaders, managers and their designees to transfer knowledge, share solutions and information, and provide opportunities for creative thinking in support of organizational goals.” Within this scope, the EITLC will develop and maintain an ongoing high priority environmental information issue list along with a mechanism by which to keep the list live. The environmental information community of interest (COI) will vote on issues provided in terms of importance, relevance, and impact, and the top five issues selected will serve as the basis for Priority Action Teams (PATs). Each PAT will research its respective high priority environmental information issue and be responsible for providing the EITLC with periodic status updates and a concluding report of findings and recommendations. Throughout the process, PATs will contribute content and updates to the EITLC Wiki, which will act as the main interaction point with the community.

The term of each PAT will be situational and dependent upon the issue area being discussed. Annually, the EITLC will, with input from the environmental information COI, brainstorm a new issue environmental issue list to be prioritized for the next round of PATs.

Members of the EITLC will act as leaders for PATs. Subject matter experts from the COI may join the EITLC on a temporary basis to participate on a PAT which interests or directly pertains to them. Once the PAT’s work is complete, it is expected that PATs sunset. To learn more about joining a PAT, visit the Get Involved page.
