How do I navigate the Wiki?

The navigation sidebar to your left provides links to all of the wiki categories, which organize all of the wiki pages. Click on a sidebar link to see the current list of articles (wiki pages) available in a category.

How do I vote on Issue Areas?

To vote on the top environmental information issue areas, you must first become a registered user of this Wiki (see "How do I become an EITLC Wiki user?" above). Once logged in, go to the category to view all of the 18 issue areas available for voting. Select an issue area to read more about it. At the top of each issue area page are five stars (as seen below). Select the number of stars from 1 (not important) to 5 (very important). Each user can vote once for each issue area. However, you can change your vote at at any time by selecting the new number of stars as needed.

These rankings will be used by the EITLC to identify the top issues around which Priority Action Teams will be formed.

Can I change my vote?

You are allowed one vote per issue area, but can always go back and change that vote. Simply log in and select the new number of stars that you would like for that particular issue.

How do I create a new page?

You need to have a user account to create a new article - you can register here.

For creating a new article on the Wiki, see How-To: Create an Article.

How do I edit an existing page?

With the exception of a few protected pages, every page has a link that says "edit this page", which lets you edit the page you are looking at. This allows users to make corrections and add information to articles. To learn more about editing existing pages, go to Edit an Article.

How do I add a link to a page?

Users can add both internal and external links to Wiki articles. In fact, this makes navigating the Wiki easier for other users, so is a recommended practice to link from articles to related existing articles. To learn how to add links, go to How-To: Add a Link.

How do I upload a file?

To upload a file, click 'upload file' in the left-hand tool bar and follow the instructions on that page.

To add the file to a page, in the edit view, click "Wikitext" and insert the following code: [[:image:FileName.FileExtension | File Name]]. Click save.

For example, to add a PowerPoint presentation named test.ppt that you want to name My Test PowerPoint, add the following code [[:image:test.ppt | My Test PowerPoint]]

Who writes the articles on the EITLC Wiki?

Almost all articles on this Wiki are written by multiple editors, not just one. If you click on the "history" tab on the top of an article, a list will be displayed of all the contributors to the article, and what changes or additions they made.
